Humans have been flawed ever since we took a bite of that delicious apple, and our thinking has been imperfect ever since. Over the years, I’ve learned some very worldly ways of thinking that many Christians practice. And we dont realize that Jesus never called us to have that mindset.
Here are a few of them…
Jesus never advocated for self-defense.
Self defense is really of the world. Just think about it… What type of self defense truly gives glory to God?
Jesus never told us to have pride.
Pride is a basic human emotion. Its a natural feeling. However, Jesus never told us we should have pride, not even in our own faith. Wonder why?
Jesus never told us that our spouse should love us.
It says in the Bible that WE should love our spouse, not the other way around. Imagine if scripture said that my wife should love me? My human flawed mind would then put all kinds of demands on her, because “the bible says so”. The genius of Jesus knew not to word it that way.
